I am a Denver based sculptor with a focus mainly in figurative works. Originally from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2007. For more than twelve years after college I stepped away from the arts and lost my dream of becoming a sculptor. But like many people did during the Pandemic, I had a sort of Renaissance. I began sculpting, putting myself out into the art world again and never looked back.

My sculptural subject matter focuses on anatomy, movement, a touch of the grotesque and a bit of the surreal. As a lover of creature/character design, classical sculpture, myth, politics, and nature, my work celebrates the beauty and complexity of the human and animal form. Having recently gotten into ceramics, I am increasingly excited about the connection of this natural material to the forms created to make a seemingly natural thing.  I have connected more with natural clays than other materials I have used in the past because I enjoy this connection with nature throughout my work. I want my creations to appear mythical and surreal, yet to have a voice and a story relatable to the world with deep roots in the human experience and nature.  Myth throughout time has been used as a way to explain modern narrative, and symbolize our experiences with the environment. My work follows the narrative of lived experiences in this life and gives voice to what I see in the world around me.

I am currently a freelance artist in Denver, CO, sculpting for special effects studios and specialty exhibitions. I teachSculpture and Form with Flux Studio and Gallery in Denver, show in galleries throughout Colorado, and am an Associate member with the National Sculpture Society.
